First-time setup

Choose either NetEase DD or NewBeeBox. Follow the green buttons in the YUI installation wizard. Checklist marks apply only to this reading session.

Updating

Read the release notes to decide whether you need an addon update or the author’s updated configuration.

Update addon features

Read the release notes first. If you only need new addon features, update YUI under Local Addons in your addon manager. Routine updates do not require clearing the game folders again.

Reinstall the complete setup

If you want the author’s updated settings, reinstall this setup under UI Setups in the addon manager. Export any personal settings you want to keep as strings before installing, then import them again afterward.

Move the interface

This setup uses three layout editors. Choose the editor that manages the element you want to move.

ESC → YUI Settings → Edit Layout (top right)

Move cooldown monitors, action bars, chat, the minimap, stat displays, focus interrupt bars, Metamorphosis, potion alerts and cast sequence elements.

Common questions

Why are there three layout editors?

Different addons manage different elements. Check Move the Interface to choose YUI’s layout editor, EllesmereUI Unlock Mode or Blizzard Edit Mode.

Where did the defensive or utility monitors go?

These groups are hidden without a target by default. Uncheck No Target under the group’s General → Display Rules.

Why did an update replace my settings?

Updating an addon and reinstalling a setup are different actions. Reinstalling the setup replaces settings. Export what you want to keep beforehand and import it again afterward.

Can I use another nameplate or bag addon?

For nameplates, enable Platynator and disable EllesmereUI Nameplates. For bags, enable Baganator + Syndicator and disable EllesmereUI’s bag addon. Follow the relevant section.
